At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world’s largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.
At Cloudflare, we’re not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we’re looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a "normalized" problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you’re the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you’ll fit right in.

The Americas Marketing Programs & Platforms team is seeking a Senior Events Manager to own Cloudflare's presence at high-profile Tier 1 industry events and conferences across the Americas. This is not a logistics-only role — you'll set the strategy for how Cloudflare shows up at the biggest stages in security, infrastructure, and developer technology, then bring it to life through our expo-floor booth, speaking sessions, sponsorships, and activations.
Equally important, you'll be the connective tissue between marketing and the field: making sure the sales organization knows where we'll be, why it matters, and exactly how to turn our presence into real conversations, pipeline, and revenue with their prospects and customers. And like everyone at Cloudflare, you'll approach the work as a builder — treating AI as a partner to automate the manual, ship faster, and make every event smarter than the last.
What You'll Do
Own Event Strategy & Portfolio
- Own the end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution for Cloudflare's presence at Tier 1 events across the Americas (e.g., major security, cloud, and developer events).
- Build and manage the annual Tier 1 event portfolio, prioritization framework, and budget — making deliberate trade-offs on where we show up and how big we go.
- Define objectives for every event (brand, demand, pipeline, or customer expansion) and align cross-functional teams around them before work begins.
Drive Presence, Experience & Thought Leadership
- Lead booth strategy and experience design on the expo floor: creative concept, floor plan, demos, staffing, swag, and lead capture — creating a presence that stands out in a crowded hall.
- Drive our thought leadership motion: speaker submissions, session strategy, keynote/theater content, executive briefings, and customer story placement.
- Negotiate and manage sponsorships and branding opportunities, and design activations and on-site moments that break through and earn attention.
Activate the Sales Field
- Build and run the field activation motion for every Tier 1 show: pre-event briefings, target account mapping, meeting-booking playbooks, staffing plans, and post-event follow-up cadence.
- Equip AEs, SDRs, SEs, and CSMs to make the most of our presence — with pre-event outreach templates, at-show playbooks, demo scripts, and a meeting concierge for high-value accounts.
- Partner with Sales Operations and Marketing Operations to ensure lead capture, routing, and attribution are airtight, so every conversation is tracked and followed up.
Prove Impact, Optimize & Build
- Define and report on the KPIs that matter for each event — pipeline influenced, meetings booked, leads captured, brand/sentiment lift, and speaker slots earned — and turn the numbers into a clear ROI story for leadership.
- Own vendor and agency relationships, production partners, and cross-functional contributors; manage timelines, contracts, and budget to the dollar.
- Approach the work with an AI-native, builder's mindset: build lightweight tools and automations (using OpenCode, Claude, Gemini, or similar) to streamline event operations, lead processing, enablement, and reporting — and share what you build with the team.
- Run retrospectives after every major show and turn learnings into a better, more automated playbook for the next one.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in event marketing, experiential marketing, or field marketing, with deep experience running large Tier 1 conferences and trade shows.
- Proven track record leading complex, high-budget event programs end-to-end ($1M+ annual budgets), including sponsorships, booth builds, and executive programming.
- Strong sales-enablement instinct: demonstrated ability to activate field teams, drive pre-event pipeline, and tie events to tangible, attributable revenue.
- Experience working with AI tools (OpenCode, Claude, Gemini, or similar) to build solutions, automate workflows, and solve problems — not just consume outputs.
- Natural curiosity about people, products, processes, and technologies, with the ability to ask insightful questions and uncover what actually drives results.
- Exceptional cross-functional leadership — comfortable aligning product, sales, brand, PR, and executive stakeholders and managing up.
- Sharp budget management, vendor negotiation, and agency management skills.
- Data-driven mindset: comfortable working with Salesforce, marketing automation, and lead routing/attribution to prove impact.
- Bias for action and willingness to experiment with new approaches, tactics, and channels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B security, infrastructure, cloud, or developer-facing marketing.
- Familiarity with events like RSA Conference, Black Hat, AWS re:Invent, Gartner summits, and similar Tier 1 shows.
- Experience with both in-person and hybrid event formats, including broadcast/streaming production.
- Experience managing and developing junior marketers or agencies.
Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.
- For Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $125,000 - $172,000
- For Colorado, Illinois, Maryland and Minnesota based hires: Estimated annual salary of $99,000 - $135,000
- For New York City, Washington, Washington D.C. and California (excluding Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $118,000 - $148,000

Project Galileo: Since 2014, we've equipped more than 2,400 journalism and civil society organizations in 111 countries with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare’s enterprise customers--at no cost.
Athenian Project: In 2017, we created the Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration. Since the project, we've provided services to more than 425 local government election websites in 33 states.
1.1.1.1: We released 1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here’s the deal - we don’t store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.
